My First Painting (Creativity Tuesday)

Happy New Year!

Here’s my first complete painting. I finished a few weeks ago but didn’t get a chance to snap a photo.

Anyway. It’s acrylic on paper coated in gesso and I’m inordinately proud.

The day I started this, my cat followed me to art class. He trailed me through town, almost to Main St., and at that point his hare-brained wandering in front of cars and in and out of yards with dogs stressed me to the point that I just carried him to class, which is in a small storefront next to our barber. He sat on a stool next to me. Then he followed me back home through dark streets, houses glowing with Christmas lights. I thought, whose magic life is this?
