Summer in the Garden: Late June Blooms

What’s blooming this week? ? Check it out!

Shasta daisy, hollyhocks, clematis.

Mmmm…. I can almost taste the cocktails now.

Coneflowers! The girls have declared these TOO POKY MOM IT POKED MY FINGER I NEED A BAND AID.

We added a sweet clearance mushroom to the fairy garden, and the plants are really filling in.

More fairy fun.

Fairy forest. (Fluffy pink celosia have not previously been central to my gardens, but now that the girls have discovered their existence, there’s no turning back.)

Happiness at the garden gate.

Or check out Summer in the Garden June Blooms 1 to see what was blooming last week.

  1. Your yard puts mine to shame. My pics would be of mouldering peonies and Japanese beetle infested rose bushes. Gorgeous!

    • Ugh….. Japanese beetles are gross and obnoxious. I have heard that you can get rid of them by hand picking them and dropping them into a bucket of soapy water, then putting that water in the blender, then spraying it on the rose bushes so incoming beatles sense the presence of imminent soapy death. Maybe a good project for Robin?

      • That is DISGUSTING. I will not do that. Well, I could maybe drop them in soapy water. Can’t I just ASK them to leave?

        • I’ve never had the stomach to put them in the blender. But just picking them off and dropping them in soapy water is pretty effective, especially if your kids will help.
